The front gate, Izumo Yashiki in the center, is a relocated Nagaya-mon, the main building of the Ekaku family, which was a large landowner in the Izumo region, built in 1896.
When you enter the Ootoguchi, in a spacious dirt floor, you will find the splendid Keyaki Daikokubashira and the heavy Kuromatsu Ryogumi, which tell you the atmosphere of the residence.
On the south side of the building, there are 3 rooms, the second room, and the Shoin and Zashiki, and you can see the Izumo-style garden from the Shoin.
There is also a cafe called Shoraitei where you can enjoy seasonal room decorations. There is also a special exhibition of the arts and crafts that represent Japan, as well as an exhibition room that introduces the works of local artists.
